Episode #1 of RESPONSEABLE with Professor Nikki James is LIVE

Can you believe it? If I were not the one who pushed the publish button, I would be answering that question with a "heck no!" But I did it. I just published my first podcast. The words running through my head right now are a whole bunch of caveats. "It's only 10 minutes." "It's not an interview, it's just an introduction." It is amazing how that little word 'JUST' can take you out.

I am an entrepreneur and innovator at heart, which is lucky because I am a professor of Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship. I love ideas, I love starting things, and I love building them, as long as it doesn't require putting myself in the spotlight or on the stage. But I realized last year that I need to practice what I preach. I tell my students all the time to start small, to begin with what is in their hands, not to despise the days of small beginnings, and yet here I was giving every excuse in the book for not doing this.

But it's 2026. We only live once. So let's do this.
